Native American Warriors Part II (1864-1904)

In the early 1800s, the United States government began forcing many Native American Tribes from their ancestral homeland to land set aside west of the Mississippi River. The government continued the process of Indian removal for several decades.  However, in 1865 when the Civil War ended, efforts became even more focused on moving Native Americans in the western states to government-controlled reservations.  Cavalry Regiments were formed to fight in the Indian Wars.
